termdatesSchool term and holiday dates are determined in accordance with the legal requirement, which require that there should be 190 pupil days and 5 teacher available for work days (INSET days).

A summary of the school holidays and term dates for 2013 and beyond are available via the Oxfordshire County Council website.

ICT Services for Schools – MIS Procurement Update

Oxfordshire Council County have been running a MIS Procurement exercise and it was hoped to have the announcement for schools today. 123ICT have been informed that this is not happening as there is still some signing off to be done in the Council.

The MIS Procurement announcement will now be published in January 2013.

At the Head teachers’ conference in April, 123ICT set up a meeting with the OCC procurement team. They wanted to know a bit more about us and our strategies with the schools we work in; in turn we wanted to know how they could make our purchasing techniques more efficient and cost effective.

SIMS Central Service – Office 2010 Licensing

Since September 2011, Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) have been upgrading their computers to Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 platforms.  During the Easter Break 2012, Capita will be discontinuing their support of SIMS with MS Office 2003 and therefore OCC will be upgrading the SIMS Central servers to MS Office 2010 .

Schools are responsible for their own software licensing and from the start of the summer term 2012, schools will need the appropriate licence for MS Office 2010 on any computer that is ...
