123ICT Advice re Office 365 Update

Following the Office 365 Update in OCC School News on the 17/4/2014, 123ICT schools have been asking for advice re the transition of their email system.

Your 123ICT consultant will be able to advise your school on the best approach but in general our advice is as follows:

  1. Ask your 123ICT consultant to setup the Outlook 2010 client for the following email accounts (where 1234 = schools DfES number):
    • office.1234@ocnmail.net
    • head.1234@ocnmail.net
    • plus any other account where you want to transfer over all email contacts and email ...

Office 365 Upgrade of Staff Email Accounts

A reminder to Oxfordshire schools that the upgrade of Staff email accounts will begin on today (i.e. Friday 04 October) and should be completed by OCC on Monday 07 October.

Staff email accounts will automatically be upgraded by Microsoft to the latest version of Office 365 which introduces new features and a fresh new look and feel. This upgrade will match the student’s current version which has already been upgraded successfully earlier in September.

Office 365 Update for Oxfordshire Schools

Oxfordshire schools have been anxiously waiting to hear about the Office 365 email project. This week OCC posted an article on Schools News which you can access via Microsoft Live@Edu to Office 365 email upgrade update | Schools.

In summary, school email accounts will be upgraded from Live@Edu to Office 365 between 1 and 5 July 2013. Schools will then be able to access emails via mail.office365.com using a new username and password – these will be sent out next week ...

Microsoft Live@Edu email update

OCC ICT Services have been talking with Microsoft and RM to prepare the upgrade and migration of schools Microsoft Live@Edu email services. Eventually this will mean that the administration and management of the email accounts will be handed over to Oxfordshire school who be able to add and remove accountsT. Microsoft Office 365 email service is free as part of the education package provided by Microsoft.
