A Chinese Dragon picture

The 23rd January 2012 is Chinese New Year and the Year of the Rabbit becomes the Year of the Dragon. This is an opportunity for children to learn about one of the world’s oldest cultures and the customs associated with the festival.

For a countdown to the day visit Chinese New Year 2012 , there you will also find stories and a break down of the 15 day event as well as lots more information about the dragon personality, dragon story and dragon dance!

Many teachers have shared IWB notebooks made in previous years, see a whole collection of Smart Notebooks relating to the Chinese New Year at the Smart Exchange (if you have not already signed up it is worth doing so)
