British Science Week

British Science WeekBritish Science Week is the 10th to the 19th of March 2017. The event is a ten day celebration of STEM, science, technology, engineering and maths.

“The theme for this year’s British Science Week is “Change”, encouraging young people to think about and investigate the changes happening in the world all around us; from seasons and climate, to materials and energy. ” (British Science Week)

To register for this year’s event follow this link. Three activity packs have been created for this year’s event, one for early years, one for primary and one for secondary. Each pack has a variety of activities to run in your classroom.

 

Puffin Books are celebrating through the use of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine.

To celebrate British Science Week 2017, Puffin are releasing a new book: George’s Marvellous Experiments, with lots of science experiments and safe ideas for using everyday objects, along with step by step instructions. There is a cheaper, pre-release order price of £7.99 and it is due to be released on the 23rd February.

George Kranky created his own Marvellous Medicine to deal with his grizzly old grunion of a Grandma. You definitely can’t do that at home (so don’t even try!), but here’s some amazing science that you can do!
