E Book Image123ICT E-Book Competition Winning Entries Announcement!  Thank you to the numerous schools that took part in our recent create an e-book competition, which we held to coincide with World Book Day.

The quantity and quality of the writing was truly amazing and wonderfully illustrated how using technology to create writing in this way can really fire up the imagination of children. Furthermore, it has also been really gratifying to witness so many imaginative entries from boys, who, it is often suggested, can possess a lack of enthusiasm for writing.

The standard of entries was so high that it became very hard to choose between some of them; however, after much deliberation, the winners are:

First Place.  In first place, winning, for his school,  a brand new Arnova 7F Android computer tablet, kindly donated by CCS  Media, was Jonny Adams, a Year Four from Rush Common Primary School, for his super King Shroopsharp entry.  Jonny will also receive a winner’s certificate and a £10.00 book voucher.

Second Place.  In second place, winning, for her school, a 123ICT Workshop of the school’s choice was Poppy Harper, a Year Six from Rush Common Primary School, for her delightful The Diary of Poppy the Pea entry.  Poppy will also receive a second place certificate and a £10.00 book voucher.

In addition, as the entries we received were of such high calibre and due to the fact that the children entering had obviously worked extremely hard on them, we felt that this time, we should award the following supplementary  prizes:

Third Place.  In third place, winning a Highly Commended Certificate and a £10.00 book voucher, was Jacob Taylor, a Year Six from Stonesfield Primary School, for his imaginative Mr Liar and the Truth entry.

Special Award. We also felt that a special award should go to St Blaise Primary School for outstanding Key Stage One participation. In addition to their other entries, the school  submitted two absolutely charming  audio e-book entries from Reception and Year One. This school has won a 123ICT Workshop of their choice.
